Just came across an interesting update from the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) - they’ve released some pretty impressive numbers on how the European iGaming industry is balancing profitability with player protection.

      • €3.8 billion in taxes contributed by EGBA members to EU economies
      • 69% of players (that’s 26.7 million people!) used safer gambling tools in 2024
      • About 50% used them voluntarily, which is a great sign of growing player awareness
      • Over 100 million safer gambling messages were sent last year — a 48% increase compared to 2023
      • Personalized messaging helped influence 42–46% of high-risk players
      • Industry investment in gambling harm prevention hit €148.9 million last year, reaching €290M over 5 years

What’s even more interesting is how tech and data are being used to reach players at the right moment with the right kind of messaging. It’s not just about ticking boxes anymore - it feels like we’re seeing more genuine efforts to make the space safer without killing the experience.

Do you think these kinds of industry-led initiatives are enough to build trust, or does it still feel like PR to you? Also curious if any operators here are adopting similar tools or messaging strategies.
