This industry plays an important role in Ukraine’s economy as gambling companies have paid a lot in taxes—2.2 billion Ukrainian hryvnias in 2024 and 10.4 billion in 2023. The authorities are also tough on illegal gambling, having collected 700 million hryvnias from those who tried to avoid paying taxes earlier this year.
